I was wondering if there was anyone who was in the following fields : Logistics/Embarkation & Combat Service Support
Ammunition Technician
Communications
Aviation Ordnance

I've looked up and know general information about these fields, but I would like to hear some personal experiences in these fields. I'm having a hard time chosing my MOS any help would be appreciated.

Thanks so much

Rebekah

Rebekah, i was a 0431 Logistics/Embarkation Specialist, i enjoyed every minute! did 3 Med crusies, was certified to load anything that rolls, floats, or flies! my inital enlistment was 84-88, was with 2nd LSB, working as a Longshoreman! reenlisted in 89 got 0431, with my rank back (LCpl), only lost time in grade! made Cpl in 90, Sgt 93 and SSgt 96, how is that for promotions!

Semper Fi!

thanks for all your help. I just got my job. I'm going into Aviation Ordnance Field 65. My recruiter was able to get that job for me for the date I wanted to go to boot camp. Aviation Ordnance and Communications were my top two, and I ended up getting Aviation Ordnance. Thanks again for your help.

Was a 2531 and 2532 (changed to 0621 and 22 I believe. They were doing that as I was getting out.) and loved it. You get to go to the field and do "Marine" kind of things, but you also get to do something a little different than an infantry type, just more components, so things keep changing.

Nah, I spent some time in the wing, swinging wasn't all that great for me! Of course, we did have daily uniform inspections, weekly wall locker inspections-- which included JOB and Alphas once a month. We usually spent about five months a year in the field, at a minimum. About the best thing were the 5-7 PT sessions each week.

I guess the people in the wing were a little uptight and trying to prove they weren't really all that laid back.

In 8 years in the wing I went to the range twice, ran about 5 pft's,never did daily pt,did 3 short deployments and went to about 25 squadron parties....worked for me!
