Many of you have visited this album during the time 3/1 was deployed, where all the images shown were taken by members of the battalion. The album has generated lots of interest, well over 2,000 visitors to date.
Now that 3/1 has returned to Camp Pendleton, photos of their homecoming provide an ideal way to round out and complete the collection. The homecoming photos were taken by John Wintersteen, a Marine veteran himself, who distinguished himself and his Marine Corps League Chapter by providing a huge volume of care packages to Marine units in the field over the past few years. Thanks to John for permission to post these photos.
