Online commissary makes more products available

As of Tuesday, authorized shoppers could buy more items from the online commissary.
The number of gift packs available grew from seven to 44 during the afternoon. Shoppers can now search by category, by price, or by special occasion. Easter gift packs include a gift box for under $18 that features candy, and a stuffed bunny toy as well as a chocolate one. The assortment is expected to grow to 70 within a few weeks, said Bonnie Powell, chief of marketing for the Defense Commissary Agency.
Prices range from $14.99 to $54.70.
Gift boxes for deployed troops or even college students that contain candy, cookies, and popcorn; gourmet coffee gift boxes; and a spa gift package of lavender shower gel and bath salts are examples of the possibilities.
The 5 percent commissary surcharge is included in each item; shipping and handling charges are extra, and depend on the size, weight, and destination of the item, as well as how fast you want it delivered.
