I was hoping for some assistance. I served 1988-1992.

I was recently accepted to a graduate program at Northern Arizona University to earn my Masters Degree.

The school requires that I provide proof of innoculation for Measles. Does anyone out there know if this might have been provided while I was on active duty? And how does one locate medical records from active duty service?

Thanks much.

Good luck. The Navy lost my medical records twice. Once after MCT and once after I checked in with my unit. As a result, I've gotten 3 tet shots and a bunch of other unnessicary shots over again. My buddys are always giving me a hard time, sayin the Docs are looking for me because they lost my records again. SF

Go to www.archives.gov (http://www.archives.gov) and click on 'Military Service records and follow the instructions or go directly to military service records page of the national archives at www.archives.gov/military-service-records/get-service-records.htlml (http://www.archives.gov/military-service-records/get-service-records.htlml) You can also call your local V.a and they will give you the address you can request from depending on branch of service .that takes about 30-60 days. Hope this helps.

Are these people kidding?

I don't recall if MMR was given in boot camp. The MMR is given in two doses--one when a baby is 12-15 months old and then again at 3-5 years of age. This has been the procedure for years.

Rather than waste your time getting your military medical records, I recommend you contact your old pediatrician or a physician who saw you as a teenager. They will have record and you will get what you need in a few days rather than months.
