First , Thank the power tobe that No one was hurt ! Second , We do a great dis -service to OUR Marines that work on said machine . In reading on other boards they (the works ) claim it is a "Great Aircraft". So with that said .. Maintanance malfunctios can occur at any time .. "Wrong computer in - puts "for one example.
Watched a CH-46 in 70 at MMAF while i was in HMH-463 ,hanger come completly apart while doing aground turn-up. Aircraft went into a ground resonance tore itself apart..

dang rigth bros, scrap it!!!!
Thank God! And the Government Beancounters in Washington and the Pentagon for cutting back the MC Budget this past year, otherwise we'd have alot more to add to the scrap heap. Who needs it anyway, we got the ol' Huey's from the Nam Era to take up the slack, add the C-130's & a couple of worn out Jets that the Navy was going to scrap anyway - we add the good old "patch 'em up for another day special Marine Corps Glue" an' we're back in business again. History has proven many times - Marines can make anything work - and if we can't fix it, it ain't worth sh*t!! Then we have no alternative but to steal it!! Oh, I mean "Borrow" it!! I was always a firm believer that if "it" was military issue - then it belonged to all of us!! Marines have never borrowed something that they were not going to use anyway - I just could never understand why the other Branches of the Military never got it!! SF

:tank: :thumbdown In WW2 they told the army tank crews that the M4 Sherman tank was the best there is. Truth on average the kill ratio was 3 M4's to every Germen tank' When will we learn?

technically speaking it WAS the best there was... of the medium tanks.... the ratio you spoke of (3:1) is shermans vs tigers which were very heavy for their time.

A frickin' full bird was disciplined over falsifying maintenence records, I would have hated to see that if it was a staff NCO instead..................
