Is there any way to find out exactly what awards and ribbons I may rate? If so please let me know what I have to do.

Thank You

I will attempt to advise you on your questions. Other memebers of the forum may have other details that I may not know. First of all Welcome to Leatherneck. Welcome home Marine. Your DD214 is a acurate source of your Marine Cprps record. It will show your rifle and if you fam fired or qualified with the pistol. It should also show your Good Conduct, National Defense, your Renlistment code, usually on the bottom of the form on the right I believe and any other decorations that you were awarded. The Marine Corps used to have records at Kansas City MO 9700 Page Blvd. I think. The records were in the works of being reduced either to MICROFITCH or electronically recorded, this was for paper reduction that General Gray was requiring to be paperless. If you don't have yor DD214 copy this link to get the process started http://www.leatherneck.com/forums/view.php?g=dd214.
This link can also be found of the homepage of Leatherneck. Did you retain any of your records from your term in the Corps. Pro and Cons anything? This may help to jar your memory. Please let us know on Leatherneck if there is anything else we can do for you.

Marinecatman,
GYSGTRET gave you the straight scoop. You can also get your records from NARA. They will have a listing of medals and ribbons. The miliitary may have awarded a few you are unaware of. Here is the link:
