Well aside from the beatdown...lol

they could go a number of ways non judicial punishment (which is usually a fine and a rank drop of some sort)
or court marshall wich could be a dishonerable discharge

You know it bro. That is asault no matter where you are. Along with assaulting an NCO or worse yet SNCO. Recycle or reject...??? Probably NJP and dishonorable discharge or better known as BCD (Big Chicken Dinner)

I was on Extra Duty for a week with another LCPL who assaulted a Sgt.

Technically it was assault. He was a real sh*tbird and was being dressed down by a Sergeant. He had enough and took a swing.

Basically what followed was that he got his ass whupped soundly and a Big Chicken Dinner.

I finished my time doing everything 110% and stayed away from the sh*tbird.

Don't know if they still have it, but when I was a D.I. at Diego, they had a wonderful little place call CCP (Correctional Custody Platoon) where they sent birds that didn't want to conform to the Marine Corps way. Every where these birds went they carried two crossed sledge hammers at port hammers and were at the double time whenever they were moving. When they got to their destination they got to make little ones out of big ones.

If the Drill Instructor was a male he most likely worked hard to hold back a laugh and then dropped her for 20 while he reduced her ego to the level of a flat worm, (Maggot).

What an airhead! What did she think she would accomplish by such an asinine act? Obviously she doesn't know the meaning of "RESPECT".

Hmm, Gee, How Many Would Have Liked To Have Taken A Shot At Him? On The Outside He Would Have Gotten Maybe A Fat Lip Picking On Family. Lets Be Honest People, Think It Out.

DUH - that was about a stupid move - if they let her stay in she should consider herself lucky! Back in 84 there was this chick from NY that a DI was raggin' on and NY turned around and started yelling at the DI and NY was OFF the island before sundown the next day (well, you know what I mean - she had to hang out with the SEP sh_tbirds for a few days).

Tell her that the Corps doesn't like folks like her and that we all think she's just plain stupid!

When I was in Okinawa, CCU was down at Camp McTureous, we used to send our Birds there all the time. I was working down there with the 9th MAB and they had a couple of Squids sent down from Yokosuka, Japan that had Hernia's when they made them do situps. It was pretty hillarious. And Oh the changed attitudes when you got a Bird back from CCU.

when i got out in 2000, they had a unit at stonebay rifle range (CLNC), called CCU, it was for Marines and sailors that there units thought were salveageable (sp), it was ran by the MCB Brig, and it was boot all over again! don't know if it is still there though, hope so, saved some good Marines!

I don't know the details so it's hard so say, it might've been self defense. I don't know if it was by accident (I know when the DI's got within arms distance of me, me just standing there, they claimed it as assult... ?) or what, but most likely she'll get dropped. Most times the Senior DI will protect the recruit for njp or court-martial, but it depends on how good the is all throughout.

Well fender, at least she is showing some backbone. The DI will determine if it's manageable. With a fight back attitude she will most likely make a good Marine. Only time and the DI will bring the answer.

I'm with you ggyoung - she might have been thinking that she would have liked to kick the DI but............back in my time she would have been history.

Now you guys really got me confused with this one!! You mean, this female recruit kicked a male drill instructor, right?? And the drill instructor will have her removed from training & sent back to civilian life?? They actually do this type of thing nowadays?? In '67 I only saw one person (recruit) that actually left the island and that was in a straight jacket!! Ya mean, all ya gotta do nowadays is kick your DI & you get a ticket home?? Maybe this is just for females?? I can't believe that if your a male & did that - they would discharge you!! I'd believe that the DI would go get some of his buddies & come back & do you in - I'd believe that one!! But, not the former idea!!
Keep us abrest of this one - this is interesting. But nothing anymore ceases to amaze me!!! SF
