Hey Devil Dogs,

Quick question, short but can be very in depth answer if you make it so.

"If there is one thing you could have done before enlisting, what would it have been?"

Thank you.

Gone out with more women!

Or if you are asking about preparations, done more PT.

Can't think of anything - I pretty much wanted to get "wild" (I was 23 and had never left home) and I had done everything that I could in my little small town. Going in the Corps was like throwing a kid in a candy store for me.

As far as preparation for what I was about to get into - definitely more PT. I wasn't lucky like a lot of the poolees are now. My sorry ass recruiter didn't have a PT program set up for anybody that he was signing up and I didn't have the discipline (then) to do it myself.

No regrets.

PS there is more to life than women! Cut back on the booze, clean yourself up, and maybe you'll find the right woman (or man!) for you.

Maybe...but at 18 ....there really were only a few things that were important ....beer and girls were number 1 and 2...in that order.

Remember When You Could Drink At 18 But Not Vote, Now You Vote At 18 And Can't Drink Till 21, Things Do Sure Change, Put A Million Dollar Or More Machine For You To Use At 18 But Not A Beer Can. Hmm Logic. Must Be Us Old Timers Were Real Bad. Lmao

There will always be plenty of time for women and beer, or beer and women...whichever order you choose.
If you want to prepare yourself, then prepare yourself for the worst!..and when that is over, try and step outside yourself and think...and I mean really think about what it means to be a United States Marine.

As long as there is a female involved any piece is a good piece. Spoken like a true Marine84 even though you are a female.

I've NEVER had a BAD piece, some just a little better than others.

I have, on occasion, been so inclined to say, 'I got mine, now get dressed ***** and get the flock out of here before the sun comes up'.

JWG that's a good question, Have to agree with everyone else on Hooked up with more Women Before I left and on everybreak I got (you can never have too many hook ups it's all practice until I meet that ONE...

Personnaly I don't think their is anything you can do, you have to be ready for anything Onething you don't want to do is go in their too confident or not confident enough because your weakness WiLL show

theirs NO INDIVIDUALITY in the Corps, Were Marines
