I am a writer working on my second novel about a vietnam veteran who was stationed at Khe Sahn in 1967 and endured the siege some months later in 1968. I am doing research to aid a Marine named Chris Mecum, who was a radio operator in the 1st MAW at DaNang air base. From 1 Dec '67 to 4 Jan '68 he was TAD to Khe Sahn. His job was to take weather readings and send the info back to DaNang to help provide air support to Khe Sahn. Any information you have about this period in Khe Sahn or weather reporting operations would be greatly appreciated. I f you have questions for him let me know and I will get back to you.
