I think it , musta been that no good neighbor of mine, Jack's Idea, who started it all. He has all his lights up already.

Do you decorate?

Well I best get to doing it, with six women in this household, I get to do stuff like that.

Cook

I took your lights graphic since I was too lazy to look for them.....LOL......Anyhow that is less for me to put up......LOL....

Cook I don't know at this time who's idea it was...but when I find out....I will let you know.....Just have your gun Locked and Loaded.....LOL....

Well around my neighborhood....almost all decorate their houses for Christmas and Hanukka....Neighbors helping neighbors....a project that has been done for years.......Highlighting our houses, windows, doors, and railings...Dolls of Christmas themes....scatter all around our lawns..... The bright eyes of the young children running around looking at the houses....brings great joy to most of us....and you can say the electric co....does too.....LOL...
Well lots of work to get started....but the hard part is trying to wake my children up.....to get started on getting the lights up.....LOL...

Sempers,

Roger

Of course, they got something to sell...

Some say that the Christmas tree started in Germeny many centuries ago. ...

However....

" for the customs of the people are false. A tree from the forest is cut down, and worked with an axe by the hands of a craftsman. Men deck it with silver and gold; they fasten it with hammer and nails so that it cannot move."

Does anyone like a little pagan fertility celebration with their "Christ birth" celebration? ;)

We won't talk about Easter just yet....LOL

Here's one that worked for me Marines :D

A few years back, we had moved into this new house with a great big tall bonus room.
WE decided to have a live tree that year.
WE decided to get one tall enough to almost reach the ceiling.
WE decided to make sure it was well lit, so all the neighbors could see the new folks' tree from the window.
WE wanted lots of lights, on every branch of the tree.

So, I start lighting the tree, in true MARINE CORPS fashion. I start at the top, and work my way down, wrapping the lights around EVERY branch on the tree. Remember, this was about an 8 ft tree, Blue Spruce, pretty tree. But,
WE love the way the tree is starting to look, nice and bright. After about the 2nd trip to the store for more lights, and I'm into the 2nd day of work, we stop and count boxes.

With what we had, AND what I, er.... ahhh, WE bought, I had about 2400 lights on the tree. Fried an extension cord, pulling so many amps :D

The lesson was...... I haven't been asked to put lights on the tree since then.

Happy Holidays all

Terry

Well, I "killed two birds" last Saturday. I cleaned out the gutters and put up lights.

Who says the men have all the hard jobs around the house?
I only did it because I am a Christmas addict! I love to decorate every window the front porch, the roof line....

HEE HEE HEE
I do not pay the electric bill!!!
