Family and friends anxiously waited on their arrival at Camp Lejeune.

"He's done his time and he's worked so hard and we're just ready to relax and enjoy him here for a while," Ellen Brady says.

After waiting seven months to see her husband, Ellen Brady and her 15-month-old daughter didn't have to wait much longer. The Marines were finally there.

This is the third time the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Division at Camp Lejeune has been deployed to Iraq to carry out 'Operation Iraqi Freedom'.

They were there to train the Iraqi army, oversee security forces and watch the development of the Iraqi government among other things Major Dixon says.

"This is part of history here. You're seeing democracy come to Iraq after so long under Saddam Hussein," Major Dixon says.

Major Dixon, who served with the Battalion, says he is extremely proud. "?huge amount of maturity in young people assuming great responsibility under very trying conditions and they never failed to impress me," Major Dixon says.

Tim Brady, Company Commander hopes the people of the United States understand the Battalion's Mission in Iraq. "?f they could see what the marines do over there, they'd have no doubt that our future is well in hand with the young men and women of the united states," Brady says.

Those are the young men and women who received hugs and kisses from family and friends who missed them immensely. After 7 long months, some rifle companies of the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Division finally got to go home.

After the Battalions arrival, many of them were just anxious to get home. Brady's wife says she can't wait to catch up with her husband and tell him everything that's happened for the past 7 months.
