The best part of this quote was left out and I couldn't let it go. "Do you smell that? Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of napalm in the morining. It smells like... Like victory!" Lieutenant Colonel Kilgore (Robert Duvall) in Apocalypse Now

Recruit: "Sir, I'm never wrong"
DI: "Never?"
Recruit: "I may not always be exactly right, sir, but I'm never wrong." The DI with Jack Webb

"Fvck gunny! This fvcking thing is fvcked up. I can't fvcking hit a fvcking thing!" Heart Break Ridge with Clint Eastwood
It was this line (among others) that promted the USMC not to endorse this film. Most every Marine at the time thought it was an accurate use of the english language. LOL

"You see Danny, I can deal with the bullets, and the bombs, and the blood. I don't want money, and I don't want medals. What I do want is for you to stand there in that faggoty white uniform and with your Harvard mouth extend me some fvcking courtesy. You gotta ask me nicely." Col. Nathan R. Jessup (Jack Nicholson) from A Few Good Men

"Son, we live in a world that has walls and those walls need to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lieutenant Weinberg? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago and curse the Marines; you have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that Santiago's death, while tragic, probably saved lives and that my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives.
"You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties you want me on that wall, you need me on that wall. We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use then as the backbone of a life trying to defend something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you," and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest that you pick up a weapon and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to." Col. Nathan R. Jessup (Jack Nicholson) from A Few Good Men

virwar,

I don't remember where it came from but I always liked the quote, "I don't hate women, I'm afraid of them. I'm afraid of ANY animal that bleeds one week out of every month and continues to live."

Maybe Arnold will have something to say about THAT.

Had to think on this one awhile

One Quote, to remember for all time...

George C Scott, in the opening monologue of "PATTON", in the Gen's speech to his command:

'No poor dumb Son of a B!tch ever won a war by dying for his Country. You win wars, by making the other poor dumb Son of a B!tch dye for his Country'.

I didn't originate it, but I DID use the line.

ADCOP, Mt. San Antonio JC, Walnut CA, 1969.

Wednesday was our uniform day, undress blues. Anti-war demonstration in the campus free-speech area.

I was going from one class to the next. The rally broke up. A girl, overwraugt by emotin challenged me.

"You brute, you monster, how could you kill innocent women and children?"

My response? "It's easy honey, depends on how fast they are running, then you just lead them by one or two clicks."

Needless to say, there was not much conversation between us after that.

My loss. She WAS a honey.
