Super ad finally a go for GoDaddy.com

Persistence--and 13 failed tries because of racy content--paid off for the Web site GoDaddy.com. The company, a domain name registrar, announced Thursday that it finally got approval from ABC for its Super Bowl TV ad on its 14th try.

The first failed effort was entitled "Steamy Car Wash" and eventually evolved into a parody of the company itself and its efforts to convince the network that the ad wouldn't be a repeat of last year's effort, a parody on censorship in the wake of Janet Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction" the year before. That ad pulled before it aired a scheduled second time during the Super Bowl. CEO Bob Parsons has posted video or storyboards of the 13 versions of the ad that ABC deemed unfit for air on his Web site, www.bobparsons.com. Heavy.com has compiled some commercials banned from the Super Bowls past and present, including one produced by PETA and a "director's cut" of the GoDaddy.com ad and a spot touting an over-the-counter cold remedy, which features Mickey Rooney's bare backside.

I see nothing wrong with it, what I have seen...
