Marines on Tuesday put one of their birds back to the front of the aviation base.
After touch-up work on its exterior, the CH-53 “Sea Stallion” will again greet passersby at the entrance to New River Air Station in Jacksonville.
The air station entrance, for some, is hallowed ground. Since receiving its first donation in January 1997, New River Aviation Memorial Foundation has worked toward a memorial at the spot for those who lost their lives in New River-based aircraft.
