Gen Ray Murray, mentioned in the article above, was the model for Col Highpockets Huxley in the movie, Battle Cry, and the book before it.

Murray was indeed the CO of the 2dBn, 6th Marines during WW II, which Leon Uris, the author, used as his setting for his book.

Up till not too long ago, the MCG had in its online archives, an article on Murray relating all of the above--it has now disappeared from its archives--guess I should have copied it while I had the chance.

I don't know about anybody else but, if Tom throws in $100 to start the ante for this project, I'll throw in $50 a month for the rest of my life (and I plan to be around for a long time yet). Anybody up to match it ?

Well........ I been thinkin about this for a long time myself....
M.A.S.H. was a serio-comedy thing. That'll work JinxJr....

Isn't it high time someone did a real movie about Korea? About Chosin..... The Hook.........

Let's get real. Brokaw talks of the 'Greatest Generation'.

Obviously, our leaders won't do squat about it, cause their more worried about the money and so on.

I'll offer my building services. We'll work out the details later.

Semper FI - To the Corps until WE DIE... come he!! or high water I am NOT letting it DIE !!!
