Rulon: Schmidt runs with Marines

WASHINGTON - Rep. Jean Schmidt was on a trip through Bulgaria, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq last week, but that didn't stop the marathon runner from going on her daily runs - or catching most of the last Bengals game.
"Every morning, I was met by Marines and we ran the streets of Bulgaria," Schmidt told reporters in a phone call. "Marines and me. Every morning, even in the snow."
Schmidt, who was the only one of the six members of Congress on the trip to take part in the runs, even got to run in the middle of the street because there is a shopping district where traffic is cut off.
The Miami Township congresswoman sometimes runs in the middle of the street back home. It was unclear whether she continued her runs in Pakistan, Afghanistan or Iraq.
