Harley-Davidson has announced that it will offer five limited-edition paint kits for Fat Boy motorcycles in designs to commemorate the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard with matching graphics accessories. The hand-numbered paint kits include custom-painted fuel tank, rear fender and front fender with a medallion logo for that service, with U.S. flag graphic in colors themed to one of the service branches and a miniature chrome Harley bar-and-shield logo to authenticate the design. The kits also include a Badlander seat with a smooth cover, subtle top-stitching, and two silver-grey embroidered H-D Military Stars and Stripes logos, plus chrome-plated billet derby and timer covers and air cleaner trim with the appropriate service emblem. There will be a total of 1000 paint sets produced.

Harley will make 1000 of the special graphic kits, each of which will carry a $3100 suggested price. However, the medallions, seat, covers and billet will be sold separately (prices are in the Harley release that follows. There will also be separate Military Collection Medallion that isn't in the kits for $40. The kits only fit 2001 to 2006 fuel-injected (FLSTFI) and 2004 and later carbureted (FLSTF) Fat Boy models.

Proceeds from the kit sales will fund a one-time donation to the USO (United Service Organizations), the nonprofit, congressionally chartered, private organization that provides "morale, welfare and recreation-type services to our men and women in uniform."

"To show its support for those who serve our great country, Harley-Davidson will also make a one-time, $100,000 donation of proceeds from the sales of these special kits and accessories to the USO (United Service Organization) whose mission is to provide morale, welfare and recreation-type services to our men and women in uniform," said Ron Hutchinson, vice president of Genuine Motor Parts and Accessories.

Each complete paint set kit will include a custom-painted front fender, fuel tank, and rear fender with U.S. flag graphic in colors themed to a specific service branch. So far, Harley has only released photos of the Air Force version, although it is offering paint and graphics to commemorate all five branches of the U.S. military services
