Marines donate toys to Family Enhancement Center

The Family Enhancement Center, a comprehensive, community-based program of Behavioral Health Services, Wyoming Valley Health Care System, received a donation of toys from United States Marine Corp. MWSS 472, Det. A, Wyoming. The Family Enhancement Center provides preventive maternal/child health services, support, education and case management services to new families throughout the region.

Located at Nesbitt Memorial Medical Center, Kingston, the Center provides comprehensive nurse home-visiting services to empower first-time parents to use their strengths to improve their futures and those of their children. The Center was founded in 1994 with a grant from the Pennsylvania Children’s’ Trust Fund, and was one of the first three Nurse Family Partnership (NFP) program sites in Pennsylvania (there are now 23 sites delivering care to 31 counties throughout Pennsylvania). Since its inception, the Family Enhancement Center has served over 550 families in the Greater Wilkes-Barre Area of Luzerne County.
