Please pass this very important message and attachment to everyone on your email list, thank you.
Hello fellow veterans and concerned others.
Please let me take this opportunity to tell you the mission of Operation Firing for Effect and The Veterans March.
We are dedicated to hold our Veterans to the utmost esteem and demanding that The Promise given to veterans be kept.
We have formed this group in an attempt to continue the work that was started in 1931 when a group of veterans marched to Washington and demanded that the promise to veterans be kept. For further information regarding how we are implementing that mission please see attached flyer. We need your support.
Always Faithful
Gene D. Simes U.S.M.C. "Remember the Vet and those that are now serving" God Bless America
The "Bonus Expeditionary Forces,” arriving in the capital in April 2006 this time for the promise.
1931
Thus, when a band of jobless veterans, led by a former cannery worker named Walter W. Walters, began arriving in the capital in May, tensions were high. Calling themselves the "Bonus Expeditionary Forces". They demanded early payment of a bonus Congress had promised them for their service in World War I.
2006
Now in 2006 “Operation Firing for Effect and The Veterans March” is returning to Washington for the promise. “Fulfill America's promise to care for those who have borne the battle”
Abraham Lincoln’s statement is not well served by the annual Federal appropriations process. The current direction of this process is headed in for 2006, does not reflect the sacrifice of those who have or are currently serving..
Below is a list of concerns that will drive our march on April 25 & 26, 2006.
• Full Mandatory Funding not Discretionary Funding.
• Cease and desist all VA Healthcare medical center, do not close campus’, but use them to improve the needs of our veterans
• Legal assistance and representation of need.
• Declassify all RECORDS of Veterans not serving.
• Long term care and assistance for needy Veterans
• Special disability programs.
• Agent Orange and PTSD.
• Biological and chemical exposure while serving in the Military.
• Cease and desist mandatory Lab experiment on military personnel.
• Claim reviews to be processed in a shorter length of time. (120 day max)
• Concurrent receipt for all Military retiree's.
• Fares Doctrine/Available Federal grounds to be used for recreation and therapy for Veterans.
• Enforce the current law to protect Veterans Disability benefit from the court system as an award to a third party. (US Code Title 38, Section 5301)
• Enact legislation to repeal the Uniformed Services Former Spouses' Protection Act ( USFSPA), 10 U.S.C. sect 1408, et seq.
• Put all Veterans on a system by where each is issued a card and he or she can go to any Doctor or any Hospital and receive medical care based on their service-connected disability.
• Compensation for all those that have demonstrated service connected disabilities because of any and all injuries/exposures to biological and chemical to include Agent Orange as well as PTSD because of those exposures.
