Did anyone listen to NPR this AM and hear of the warriors barracks @
Camp Lejune for recovering marines? I wish I could have done that in
69 rather than being on convalesent leave @ home.

The interviews w/ the grunts reminded me of times and thoughts of
the past.

A grunt, or any Marine in recovery and convalesent is posted to these
"Warrior Barracks", each Marine has a single bed suite with a full or
queen bed, TV,DVD player, outfitted head w/ hand rails or special
eqpt as needed. The Marine is with fellow Marines, recovering and
rehabing together. The NCOIC is a 20 yr E-7, who cannot pass the
medical rehab board to rtn to his company.
The Marines are together, rebuilding physically and mentally, connected
to fellow Marines, rather than being sent home on convalesent leave
and having no Corps Support Group to meet any needs.

I think that is outstanding, and wish it would have happened in my
time.

That's just OUTSTANDING!!!

Thanks for the post fmillst, and welcome aboard. I haven't been here long myself, but the Marines and family members on this site are outstanding. The support they provide to all is above reproach.

Semper Fi, Brother...and all that are here.
