This morning on the FOX morning news/talk show, there was a story about
Col. Ollie North and Col. Hunt (both members of the FOX news staff) visiting
wounded US mil service members at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. They
were talking to a recently wounded soldier in Iraq , a Joshua Sparling,
who is recovering/re- hab'ing. On a wall next to the young man's bed was a
single card that said something akin to "die soldier".....

Some anti-war and anti-US military puke had sent this Soldier an "I hope
you die" get well card. It was the only card that this brave kid had
received.
True to form, he put it on the wall next to his bed as an inspiration to
recover, rehab and get back to his Unit and buds.

Both the Colonels and the FOX news people thought this brave kid was an
inspiration and certainly deserving better than a one time "go die"
card....

So, FOX put out his name and address at Walter Reed so he can get some
Get Well Cards......

Name: Joshua Sparling

Josh Sparling PFC USARMY Iraq
First let me thank you for your prayers, it is obvious God has spared Josh (my wives brother) from possibly death. He is now in Washington D.C. where he'll remain for the next three months or so. After that he'll be transferred to a hospital closer to home.

His injury was due to an IED (improvised explosive device) that was activated while he was on patrol in Iraq. His shin was severely fractured and pieces of it are missing as well as a lot of muscle and skin as well. Today or tomorrow they begin reconstructing his leg. This will take five or more different surgeries. The plan is to strengthen and heal the remaining bone and replace the missing part with a titanium rod. They will also need to use muscle from his thigh to replace the muscle lost in his lower leg and then graft skin from his back to his leg. Praise the Lord he still has feeling in all five of his toes, but no mobility. Doctors have high hopes for his leg although the recovery will be between 12-18 months.

Continue to pray for Josh's physical as well as spiritual condition. It will be very difficult for Josh to go from a healthy and strong 24-year-old soldier to a weak and almost helpless patient. Pray that God will use this tremendous trial in his life.

He is able,

Joe
