Will Iraq comply with the U.N. resolution and disarm?

Iraq has until November 15 to agree to a Security Council resolution passed unanimously on Friday demanding Baghdad allow U.N. arms experts unhindered access to sites suspected of producing weapons of mass destruction or face "serious consequences." Even if they agree to it, will they comply with it?

But NO, he won't disarm. He will stall, avoid, harass, and evade.

When an Inspector reports problems, he will allow the inspection AFTER clearing up the ADMINSTRATIVE ERRORS, that existed.

I think he will 'TEST THE WATERS', to see how much unilateral support we (the US and Great Britan) will receive from the 15 votes of the (in)Security Council.

This will buy him more time. He's in a corner, and he knows it. But like an animal in a trap, he will chew off his own leg before he lets someone help him get loose.

An interesting article in USA Today recently, stated that he cannot afford to have sanctions lifted. As long as Iraq is under economic sanction, they do not have to repay debts, to the tune of $700 Million (I think). I don't remember the exact figure.

It doesn't sound like much to us, but to their economy, it nears bankruptcy.

I also think we will NOT go in for awhile. He will stall long enough to get thru the winter, then we will want to wait for cooler weather again.

amazingly enough, Hussien did not feel threatened enough after his troops got their clocks cleaned in 90-91, or maybe he just thinks that we will look the other way. He couldnt have been more wrong.
