Saw a movie in the pubic library movie section dealing with the Marine Corps titled: "Stateside". It is based on a true story. I believe Val Kilmer is in it. Has anybody seen it? Opinions?

There was also a book of interest titled: "War Reporting for Cowards" by Chris Ayres.
"This is not an anti-war book. This is an anti -sending me to war book; an I didn't want to go book. I left Iraq dumbstruck at the sacrifice made by Rich "Buck" Rogers and his fellow US. Marines. I left with a desire never to be trapped in a Humvee with them again."
Has anybody read this book? Opinions?

Never mind on an opinion about the movie. The reviews don't look to good.

Plot Outline: The film follows a rebellious teenager on leave from the Marines who falls in love with a female musician. The relationship is threatened when she develops a mental illness...

Stateside is an absolute mess. It's a disjointed mish-mash of hum drum storytelling and wasted talent., 6 November 2004

The book might be interesting.
