Jack Nicholson is a good choice, based on his performance in "A Few Good Men". If you can, check out his performance as a Sailor in "The Last Detail". I think he was referred to as "Bad azz Badowsky", or something to that affect. Both performances were worth the price of admission.

Like your list, nc gal - but - how could you forget Sean Connery!

His perfromance in "The Rock" was outstanding, and he saved "The Presidio", unlike a lot of actors, he served in the military. OK, it was the ROyal Navy, but he did serve.

One of Sean Connery's interesting films was titled, "The Hill" - about a British Army Brig and the hill that they made incorrigible "tennants" run up and down to the point where brutality issues were brought up. Good flick.
