I heard clip of Bill O'Reilly (who don't always agree with) go off on the recent passage of Proposition 1 - the banning of all military recruiters from public schools - in San Francisco.
I did a little googling on this and here is what I found:

Its is still federal law that they must open their doors otherwise they will lose thier federal funding. This just another attempt for political hippies to score another for thier side.

If they don't want recruiters in thier schools they don't have to for the little price of up to 85% of thier funding.

With respect to the schools and their students...if they wish not to have a military recruiters enter their doors and assist in helping some of the students find other options than "mom and dad" funding their future that's fine. Ban all recruiters from entering the buildings on their grounds. But then when they lose all the funding and their programs are drasticly changed because of this they will have no reason to complain about inadequate funding that they do receive. They can lose their sports funding and additional other funding that can be used for other purposes like the national deficeint that has been expanding. I guess that college football will be boring to watch when there are only a few teams playing or college basketball. Even the High Schools that are so dramatic about this issue of not letting recruiters visit their students can suffer this consiquence for actions that they bring on themselves.
