Being stationed between Falluja and Bagdad from 2004-2005 I have noticed one main thing. Wehen we first got there the mortars and rockets came in like rain. Never knowing but always prepared. Once Falluja fell to us it became one less place to worry about mortar attacks coming from. We could tell when insurgents starting to go back to Falluja and when they left. I remember watching the " Fireworks" of Falluja and hearing artillery day and night for weeks. Then there was Ramadi and other places near by that took up the slack. Not to mention the cloverleaf that was hit all the time.
