I am a PFC in alpha company camp geiger, we just picked up last week, i have heard that we may be put into 1/9 when we graduate, 1/9 is currently in camp lejeune with about 20% manpower and that is why we may be going with them, i heard that if we get put with them that we will be deploying in 07' (after they get fully staffed) and will be getting attached to a MEU, does anyone have any additional info on his and does anyone know who alpha company will be getting picked up with. OOrah!! Semper Fi!!!

Recommendation..

Spend more time studying your MOS and less time worring about 2007.
Your training is about to pick up where Boot Camp left off. The next several weeks may save your life, and your buddys life.

Concentrate on THAT.
As for the FMF, you'll go where the Corps NEEDS you to go, to complete THEIR mission.
The Division will have a mission,
The Regiment
The Battalion
The Company
The Platoon
The Squad
The Fire team
The individual pair of boots
ALL will have a mission. You will have RECEIVED the training necessary for you to accomplish that mission. It is up to YOU, to absorb and utilize that training.

An old tail goes something like;
For want of a nail, a shoe was lost
For want of a shoe, a horse was lost
For want of a horse, a battle was lost
For want of a battle, a war was lost
For want of a war, a kingdom was lost
... all for want of a nail !!

Live well my Brother.
But to live tomorrow, concentrate on today !!

Devildawg, MRBSOX gave you some sound advice. Use it. Someday you will think back and say thank you. Like he saaid don't worry about 2007 until it gets here. You will go where the USMC says you are needed. That is about the only thing that is a sure bet.
