Consider that in 1990, when Alito was confirmed without objection to the Appellate bench, Sen. Ted Kennedy said the following:

"You [Alito] have obviously had a very distinguished record, and I certainly commend you for long service in the public interest. I think it is a very commendable career and I am sure you will have a successful one as a judge."
Sen. Ted Kennedy, 1990

But in comments Monday, Kennedy completely changed his tune:

"If confirmed, Alito could very well fundamentally alter the balance of the court and push it dangerously to the right, placing at risk decades of American progress in safeguarding our fundamental rights and freedoms."
Sen. Ted Kennedy, 2005

Kennedy is signaling that the Left will fight the good judge with every bit of venom they have in their pouches. In the true tradition of the Elite Left, it is only their opinions that are worthy of consideration. If I remember correctly, in the last election, it was 51% of the USA voters that differred with that opinion.

What say you Marines?

This civilian says, I think that "Old Bushmills" certainly has begun his teetering political rhetoric once again.
