There was a Lance Criminal in Albany that did the same thing. The joke was on him though. His car insurance had expired, so the local Sheriff just gave him a ticket for littering. <br />

Duh!!! Not only was the coincidence of a recently purchased insurance policy there was the irony of the name of the road " FURNACE ". So the thieves fixed or towed his car then set it on fire???

I would guess if you have to torch a car, the corvette is a good choice.

The mayor from my city got caught doing the same thing.
She brought a bunch of women from her church to the sentencing and only got probation.

I have to admit that was a hard thing to do.
