Viewing "Victory at Sea" and reading, "We Build, We Fight", eating all the spinach in the world just because Popeye did and having to pose in a sailor suit as a youngster, you would have thought that I would have joined the Navy and sailed the Seven Seas. It didn't happen. That hasn't diminished my appreciation for all the hard work that the Naval Services have provided this Country in war and peace. Enjoy your birthday to the max.

Got a retired Navy Chief here in the office, on the shift ahead of me. I came in, waited till he was off the phone, and reminded him that;

230 years ago today, the Continental Congress of the United States of America set forth a declaration forming the 'Contential Navy'.... Happy Birthday !!

to which he stopped, looked at the date on his watch, said 'REALLY'??, then dug out his copy of teh 'BlueJacket', and confirmed it.

Amazing, simply amazing.
Guess that another reason that we are the MENS department of the Navy :marine:
