The Dark Side of the 'Force'

What if the United States had saved all the money it has spent over the past 65 years instead of spending it on Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom, and others? What if the United States had let Saddam Hussein keep his foothold in Kuwait? What if the United States had allowed Noriega to remain in power in Panama? What if the United States didn’t defend its vital interests in Europe and allowed socialist Hitler, imperialist Japan, or communist Stalin to reign supreme?

For liberal readers, over 100 million people perished at the hands of those two kindred socialist political spirits. And American socialists want us to believe their liberal swill about “giving peace a chance?” Nothing is more precious than peace, but what our “liberal friends” can’t grasp is that it takes eternal vigilance backed by the determination and will to defend itself that keeps a nation free.

The Democrat-lead U.S. Congress in the 1970s cut off funding to the war effort in Vietnam. That resulted in the beleaguered people of South Vietnam no longer being able to defend themselves. Those liberals gave “peace a chance” all right, and more than 10 million people died at the hands of “peace loving” socialists and communists in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos.

“War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.” - John Stuart Mill English economist & philosopher (1806 - 1873)

Whereas there is nothing more precious than peace, peace under Hitler, Stalin, Mao Tse Tung, and a host of others would be a living hell, for those who survived. No wonder Patrick Henry’s poignant words, “give me liberty or give me death” strike a harmonic cord with patriotic Americans. No wonder that those who have bothered to study un-revised and unvarnished American history, acknowledge their faults while appreciating the great successes of those who founded this country.

In a society where freedom is paramount, which incidentally is bought and paid for with the blood, sweat, and tears of patriotic members of the Armed Forces, there have always been and will always be those whose self-appointed mission in life is to tear down those who underwrite detractors’ right to freely write and say what they will.

So it is with Cindy Sheehan, Michael Moore and others of similar ilk, both left and right. Of course, the foregoing want peace; and so do Islamofacists. All it takes is to read what they write, listen to what they say, and observe what they do and it doesn’t take Einstein to conclude what Islamofacist terrorists want: peace on their terms, which is the destruction of America, and the killing of all Christians and Jews.

Notably, despite the combined efforts of the mainstream media with the behind-the-scenes support of the Democrat Party and other ignobles, Sheehan fails to inspire or attract mainstream Americans. (There are a hundred thousand whackos who would turn out for any cause, why does the reader think that the Florida Constitution now “protects” pregnant sows?) Mainstream Americans can see that Sheehan is a pathetic loser as she and her fellow-traveling quislings show their true colors. And those colors are not red, white, and blue.
