Have any of you ever wondered why Our country (USA) is always going into another country and taking out a dictator like saddam and Bin Laden but yet we have a dictator just 97 miles from florida in cuba that is just as bad as saddam and we allow him to do what ever he says with the people of that country..

First, Castro took the country in 1959, and President Eisenhower formed a cadre of Cubans to act a liberators, of whom we were too assist when they had established a beachhead.

Unfortunately, President Kennedy came into the White House at that time, and being a good Democrat, he changed the plan after it was already in action, after the Cubans went ashore, he refused to allow the CIA Planes in Nicaragua to go in and strafe the Castro positions, allowing Castro to bring up his armor and take the Beachhead apart. Well, in the best traditions of the Democrats, he paid the Cubans 500 Tractors for the insurgent Cubans, and he made a promise that we would not invade Cuba, in effect, selling out the Cubans, and he than pushed that plan aside and he went into South Vietnam, where other Democrats sold us out there!

Now! What was the question?

Its just amazing to me that our country will send our troops 4 to 6000 miles to take out 2 bums and wont go 97 miles to bring democracy to the people of cuba...

I'm sure that we continusouly update plans if they make a move on Guantanamo. I guess tweaking Castro's nose with just the presence of Gitmo is good enough so far.

Speaking of Democrats and Cuba, don't forget Jimmy Carter's open invitation fiasco. Ole Fidel emptied out his prisons and insane asylums and dumped them in the lap of Jimmy. That wasn't too cool. :(

Reagan would never have fallen for that one! Oh where are you now Dutch?

Cuba, a place that I would love to visit! It's a place that is locked in the '50s. If you have seen the pic's of the cars, shops etc. then you know what I am talking about. Grab a cigar, jump into a '50 chev convert and tour the day's gone by.
Of course we know that the rich here slid in the back door there and do a little golf and whatever.

A very good question cowboy, WHY NOT open that very close door to freedom?

Since your offering a free trip to a place that I'd like to see, Count me in. It never did make sense to me why we travel thousands of miles to ride a camel but can't go around the corner to smoke a cigar.
