I just graduated from Parris Island on Sept. 2nd. I'm leaving tonight for MCT. Some of ya may have remembered me, there was hope for me after all...lol! This female kicked some ass! Most quarter-decked, but hey, had a lot of fun. I would like to thank all of you for the advice and support I received before I shipped (way back on June 6th). It was way harder than I expected, but it was everything I did expect. A lot of yelling, a lot of fustration, and a lot of friends. Oscar company rocks!

Have fun @ MCT... be prepared for the BS quotient to multiply significantly, from amongst your own ranks... it's no joke... The discipline is extremely difficult to maintain there, and a cool head and lots of patience will serve you well.

Female recruits don't get a haircut do they...???
Lorix went through a spell of whether or not to cut her hair shorter or not, in preparation for Boot Camp.

That was one of the 'zillions' of questions she posed to us. I am happy as hell she put it to good use and is now part of the family!

Semper Fi Lorix! (Now pass it on)

Hey thanks everyone. No, females don't get haircuts as long as they can keep it up and keep it nice. But I did have long hair, wondered if I should cut it or not, yes I did. The night before I shipped, I cut it sort. Now it bothers me, gets in my eyes, plus I don't like short hair, so I kinda regret cutting it, don't know if I can grow it back while in the Marines. To answer the other question, my mos is 0621, communications. I went in as an open contract, I was hoping for avionics, but hey, what I was really after was the title of U.S. Marine. So whatever I got, hey, I'm fine with. Anyone know anything about what I do in communications?
