I was discharged from the Corps in June 0f '79. My DD214 says I earned a &quot;Good Conduct Medal&quot;. Is that all there is to it? Does the Corps give me one or do I have to go out an buy my own? <br />

The best thing to do is to visit this website and download Form SF 180 to start the process for awards and medals.

http://www.archives.gov/st-louis/military-personnel/standard-form-180.html

Then send a filled out form AND your DD214 to the address listed on the SF 180 form and in the comments section as for your medals and awards be updated. They will send you a DD215 (correction/additions to DD 214) along with any ribbons / medals that you are entitled to.

Takes about 6-8 months, however, so be PATIENT!!

HEy does anyone know if I could still get promoted? I had the cutting score for sgt. a month before i got out. My 1st sgt sent in a remedial package and then got out of the corps so i never heard anything.
