can someone clarify for me.....I thought only master sgts. were referred to as top, not 1st sgts. or is that acceptable also...only reason i ask is because Ive never heard to a 1st Sgt. reffered to as top.

You take care over there Top, try not to have too much fun. SF.
And outlaw, we always called a First Sgt. Top for some reason, I know they call a Master Sgt. Top because he has topped out in his field. Guess it has something to do with the pay grade bein the same.

As far as I know the 1st Sergeant, First Shirt, or whatever you wanted to call him, was always the 'Top' Sergerant in line companies, because he was the Senior enlistedman in the Company. I can't think of a time when we were not told to call him that!

The Battalion Sergeant Major was always 'Sergeant Major' and a Master Gunnery Sergeant was always "Master Gunnery Sergeant', but they were not in the line companies.

Aside from his Marine Family, his brother, the Army Major, was the last family member to have seen him "over there" within the last two weeks.

"ps. cool fact i saw my brother over her (hes an Army Major) its pretty random"

Plus..

"vstab73, and harrabove are users on this site that are in my unit and are over here they may be posting too"

Guess who posted? This is rough stuff.
