How is everyone doing?......don't know if anyone rememebrs me or not...but ive been a member here for a while.....i just havent posted or commented recently for a long time....but i did want to update on my status....it has been both a Dream and Desire of mine to become a Marine.......since i was 2 years old thats all ive ever wanted to be....well the only reason (yes i know it sounds like an excuseO the onyl reason i have not enlisted yet is because i never could drop weight down to the proper weight height requirements....well...i was talking to my recruiter on tuesday....and turns out i meet the requirements finally....and i was never fat i am jsut short and built like a lineman.......lol literally....and ive worked on it for years now....but im finally down to the right weight and currently gatherin up to finish all the paper work they told me since i dropped out of highschool and got my GED to help support my mother and sister (my mom is bipolar and legally cant work cause of its severity) and that i should have 15 college credits with a asvab score of a minimum of 50.....well the last time i took a practice asvab was a lil over a year ago and i scored a 55....well i took the practice one again and thought it was harder this time but scored a 72...so they said since i scored well over the required score that it would be no problem at all to get me a waivor for the ged...(plus the reasoning for me dropping out to get my ged)....(ive been working 60 hours a week since i was 16).........so im extremely excited....im wanting to enlist into either of the two following MOS's : 0311 or 0331....lol...alright jsut wanted to get all that out and update and all and say that im back and ill be more active on here then i have been....jsut gone through alot and usually busy with work....

hey good luck with all that, i hope it works out, but remember you always have to work for what you want.

Ken...you are a son any mother could be proud of. It's not easy taking care of someone who is severely bipolar...I speak from my own experience with my 38 year old son.
Now, follow through with your recruiter, once you get to Boot Camp continue working hard...you have the experience. Before you know it, you'll be one of "The Few, The Proud, The Marines". It's an honor you will have to work for but you'll find it is well worth it. Semper Fi and good luck. Arlene

Pull ups, sit-ups, and run time. That's the next benchmark. Believe me, you don't want an extra 3 week of training in the Physical Conditioning Platoon! yuk :(
