"Towel Head" not PC

Recently I received a warning about the use of this politically incorrect term, so please note, we all need to be more sensitive in our choice of words.

I have been informed the Islamic terrorists, who hate our guts and want to kill us, do not like to be called "Towel Heads," since the item they wear on their heads is not actually a towel, but in fact, a small folded sheet.

Therefore, from this point forward, please refer to them as "Little Sheet Heads."

We were respectful to the VC in 'Nam. We always used "sir" after "die gook". It worked every time.

It is war and you don't worry about hurting some *******'s feelings when he is trying to kill your ass. BS with the "kinder and gentler" armed forces.

Every single ethnicity has good people and bad poeple. Alot of us come up with names for the bad people. Towelhead, raghead, camel jockey are some nice ones. If they can't handle it, too bad. They are bad people anyways and I was trained to kill the bad people. So if they all die, then we would stop using the non-pc terms. Sound simple to me.

I dont think Marines are MEANT TO KILL PEOPLE we are more or less to protect our fellow Marines and if we have to kill or die so be it.

You guys just don't understand! I have never been one for calling others names just because it was popular to do so, or it made you feel better to do so! I fought like hell in RVN and I didn't call the enemy Gook, I called them Bastards, SOBs, VC, NVA, Ho Chi Minh, and other things like that, but Gook, I steered away from. The Vietnamese knew what the word Gook meant, they weren't stupid people! Some of the less educated of our ranks lost more contact information by the use of that word, than anything else.

For me, it was personal, I had an Chinese-American GF at home, for one of our Battlion Radiomen, it was also personal, he was Korean-American, and another was Japanese-American. We are, after all, Americans, and it is to be understood that many of the players on our team were not all one type of person, other than being Marines.

It may not be something that you think of, but we do have some interesting petnames for some people inside this country, for instance: Wop, Mc, Greaseball, Spic, Squarehead, and others that could cause some immediate dissention in the ranks, when used towards our fellow Marines, or even not towards the Marines personally, but just6 overheard. Just remember, some of those 'Towel Heads' you are talking of may very well be standing right next to you in Digi's, and he is holding the same weapon your are holding. There is nothing that breaks up a unit quicker than the petty little pet names one gives another!

No, I am not a PC Guy by any stretch of the imagination, but my kids were born inter-racial, and they were called little pet names by others when they grew up, it toughened them up a bit. My youngest daughter has an unusual first name, by American Standards, Momoko, and anyone that can speak Border Spanish knows what a 'moko' is in the slang dialect, but ask my daughter what she is, and she will look right into your eyes and say, "I am an American, and I am proud of it!" I guess the same thing goes for the 'Towel heads' as you call them, that serve in the Marines!
