View Full Version : They have taken the guns from Law abiding Citizens in Australia

I know this has nothing to do with the Marines, but, what the heck, many Marines are gun owners! We really don't hear much about this with President Bush in office, but one never knows when it will appear again.

An Aussie writes:
AMERICA! ! !
Australia, gun free!!

Here's a thought to warm some of your hearts...

Hi Yanks, I thought you all would like to see the real figures from Down Under. It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by our own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars.

The first year results are now in:
Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent, Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent; Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. (Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not! and criminals still possess their guns!)

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed. There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the elderly.

Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in "successfully ridding Australian society of guns."

You won't see this on the American evening news or hear your governor or members of the State Assembly disseminating this information.

The Australian experience proves it. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note Americans, before it's too late!

'When guns are outlawed,
Only outlaws will have guns'

One thing we are not told too about Australia, they have outlawed knives with blades longer that so many inches or mm for there.. and Machete's as well.. seems the locals are now hacking up each other.. and using them to rob people(I think I would rather be shot than hacked up, its a personal choice! lol).. what next pencils? where does it end?

Well, there go the hammers and saws, the knives and forks, dogs should be banned shortly, anything with a point on it has to go some time soon, and of course, some women die in child birth, so there goes sex! Isn't it terrible when the government it seems has taken it upon themselves to know what is good for everybody, and in the name of "What's good for them all!" acts accordingly, to take a land full of thinking adult people, and to treat them like uneducated children who could not survive without the government!

Perhaps, someone should inform the Aussies that they are the power and the life of government, not the reverse!

If My memory is working..when we lived there we were told that you could own a gun..Except that you would have to keep it in an authorized safe in the house. That was in 2003...

Found this on the snopes page..thought it was pretty good..

Blaming a gun for killing someone is about as competent as blaming a pencil for spelling errors.

Anyhoo here's a sumthin:

A liberal family, a conservative family and a Marine family are each in turn accosted by an armed gunman.

Gunman jumps out and says in a menacing voice "Give me your women and your wallet! I have a gun and I wont hesitate to kill you all!"
The Liberal:
goes into victom freeze mode and thinks to himself "Is it my fault? Is he from a broken home? Should we have had better lighting for this street? Was he traumatized while in school by bullies? what if we try to run away? Should I just give him my wife, daughter and my wallet? Will he kill us anyway? ....."

The Conservative:
BANG!

The Marine:
BANG BANG BANG!
The Marine's daughter:
Nice grouping daddy.

You know what the say.....
"Guns dont kill people, husbands who come home early from work do."
Well, just think, if Hillary ever gets into office, I am sure we can all pretty much kiss our Second Amendment right goodbye.

You said it JPC. I actually have an aquaintance that is a staunch Hillary supporter. She claims that Hillary is the savior of the nation. I failed to mention that this person is in the Air Force. I guess it only goes to show how jacked up that whole outfit really is. They cant even get politics right.

Any outfit that could hand out 69,000 Battle Awards for courage under fire in the attack on Baghdad alone, to men that never saw the face of the enemy, have, most definately, a problem with reality. I think they have been in their simulators too long!
