THE FINAL INSPECTION

The Marine stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes wew shining
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, you Marine,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other check?
To My Church have you been true?"
The Marine squared his shoulders said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays
And at times, my talk was tough,
And sometimes I"ve been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep...
Through, I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though, at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here,
They never wanted around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Marine waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God,
"Step forward now, you Marine,
You've borne your burdens well,
Walk peacefully on Heaven's street,
You've done your time in Hell."

TO ALL THAT SERVE,
SEMPER FIDELIS

AND WHEN HE GOES TO HEAVEN.......

TO ST. PETER HE WILL TELL, ........

ONE MORE SOLIDER REPORTING SIR....

I SERVED MY TIME IN HELL......

Roger, U R one hell of a Marine. Glad U R on my side. God Bless U. I also am having a Problem. I have a Sister who is in Florida who is terminal with Liver Cancer. I am unable to go as U know Ann isn`t feeling well. I have to be here for her. My Brother is there with her Children which is nice. At least she is with family that Loves her. I called Florida this morning and couldn`t believe what I heard. She is giving orders like a Drill Sgt. She also had a good breakfast and wanted Ice Cream. Not Bad for a sick Person. Thanks for being there for everyone. God Bless U and Ellie. Semper Fi. UR Paison Frank LOL

Thank you Linda for the information.

I don't know him nor the circumstances, I only pray that he pulls through and comes to love his life and those that love him
