View Full Version : HEADS UP: "Marine: Earning The Title" on the Military Channel 7/24/05
Just a heads up to my fellow poolie's and also interested Marines:
The documentary "Marine: Earning The Title" is going to be on the Military Channel (287 on DirecTV) on July 24th at 10 PM ET and will also be replayed several times throughout the night and into the next day July 25th at 9 AM, 2 PM, and then again at 5 PM.
This is different than the "Parris Island" and "Making Marines" documentary.

That is an awesome documentary-and the one that's actually the closest to portraying everything that goes on there and does the best job of it. Of course it's very cleaned up (no cussing and stuff) but I definetely reccomend watching it if you want a good preview of what your in for. If you miss it you can buy it from Sgt. Grit magazine, or go to the Sgt. Grit site at www.grunt.com

Yea, it wasn't surprising that they made recruit training look almost fun. Did anyone notice how at certain points in the documentary it wasn't accurate at all? For instance, when they were only in like week 2 or so of training, while interviewing a recruit you could see Alphas hanging on the racks behind him. Also, there was a lot of footage of up North when they were supposed to be in 1st phase. The documentary will still give one who is looking to join the Marine Corps a pretty good idea of what to expect in recruit training.
