Borrowing a line from 'method' actors. Is there a psychology to our desire to be part of something bigger than ourselves?

The Legacy of the Corps, to be a part of an elite group that has served hundreds of years. That tingle we get when someone invokes the name of our demi-god Chesty Puller.

We are a ruthless bunch that strengthens in our group mentality. In training we learn to abhor the 'individual'. Totally opposite of that which we swear to defend.

The idea of leaving someone behind is completely unacceptable. Our stubborness when we make a decision. Our heart and tenacity are our most deadly weapons on the battlefield.

No matter if we are recruits or the Commandant of the Marine Corps, the Eagle Globe and Anchor is our most treasured prize.

Always Faithful. The faith to perform above and beyond, because you know in your heart that the Marine beside you will not let you down. We can bear the slings and arrows of the ignorant public because we have each other.

We serve our Nation and have sacrificed much more than they can ever pay back. And we would not have it any other way!

Semper Fidelis :marine:
