Though not a Marine campaign, the Battle of Gettysburg had a tremendous impact on the course of the Civil War, and subsequently, American history.

I made a return visit this past April for the purpose of capturing new images of the battlefield. It's hard to grasp the immensity of this battle, however, there's no doubt that many spirits linger in this "vision-place of souls." Enjoy!

"Burying the Dead" is a great shot. Very dramatic. You can't really tell if it is sweat or tears.

My Great GG Grandfather was Sgt Daniel Lynch, Company C, !3th NJ Volunteer Infantry. He was at Gettsburg. I read what he wrote in his journal about the Battle, when I was very young boy. I had hoped...

Thank you for the thought Crotty, I have never had the oportunity to go there, it would be nice if someone went in my place, to pay repects to the men of Sgt Lynch's 13th NJ.

I know how many battles I saw, but how would you like to see this many battles and movement without helicopter support. As I look back on it, he was in most of the famous battles in the war. It makes you wonder what kind of men they really were that could march hundreds of miles and be able to fight the next day:
