A a result of redeployment in the Royal Marines 41st Royal Marine Commando was reformed. The following year the 41 Commando was presented with new Queens and Regimental Colours. On the 29th November 1961 Chosin Day, The Battle Streamer of the Presidential Unit Citation was ceremonally attached to the Regimental Colour, The colours are aways treated with the utmost respect and dignity.They are consecrated in the sight of God and blessed as solem symbols to the Queen and Country and Regimental History. Royal Marine Colours are similar to those of Infantry Reginments of the British Army,except they have their Battle Honours Emblazoned upon their Colours.Whe new Colours were being designed in the early nineteenth Century.the RM had in excess of one hundred and sixty Battle Honours to their credit-far to many to be emblazoned on any RM Colour capable of being carried.From the large number allready acquired "Gibraltar" was selected to be the only Battle Honour to be on RM Colours.Al others are denoted by the "Globe encircled with the Laurel," When the Queen granted permission for the Battle Streamer to be displayed on the Colours of 41 Royal Marine Commando they became unique in the History of the Royal Marines.
