A man charged in his girlfriend's mysterious November death won't be prosecuted for murder but will be charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, a prosecutor said Tuesday.
Henry Franklin Harper, 31, of Bluffton had been charged with murder after his girlfriend, 48-year-old Linda Howell, died Nov. 10. He told authorities he called 9-1-1 after finding her lying on the floor of their Friendship Lane home.
She was declared dead a short time later at Hilton Head Medical Center & Clinics.
