i have been out of the marine since july 04 and i just found out that i'm getting a new DD-214 along with a promotion warrant to the rank of Sgt. Just to make sure that it wasn't a joke or something i called back down to Beaufort South Carolina to the Air Station down there and it is in the unit dairy and everything. i had no clue that they promote why in the IRR.
They're telling you to get ready for Iran or Syria. Have fun when you get called back into active duty.

Yeah, I guy in the same reserve unit that I was in is getting promoted to SSgt without even submitting a package....the lucky bastard.

No it isn't that. I guess that the IRR falls under the Mobile command. so i called them today and i guess even if your IRR you still get promoted and i didn't know that.
