Company question

Do you know what battalion or company you are going to be in? Do you get to choose or do they just put you in one?

Don't worry the Marine Corps knows where you are going to be. Seriously. Where are you going through recruit traing at? Your recruiter should be able to get you in the ballpark as far as people writing to you when you ship. The general rule of thumb is:

Lastname, Firstname, middle intial
i.e., 3 Recruit Training Battalion (or RTBN)
Company "I" Platoon 3395
Parris Island, S.C

These are all just examples and are in no intent where you are going to commence your training at. I have no idea where you are going to go through recruit training at.

I t would have helped me answer your question had you told me you were a female. There is only one place that female recruits go to and that is 4th RTBN, Parris Island, S.C. Please be more prescise in your questions from now on as it helps to get answers to you as you ask them. We all try to answer as truthfully and presciesly as possible.

I believe 4th RTBN has 3 Companies, so at least that narrows down your choices to:

November, Papa, and Oscar.

What you could do is check the Parris Island website and see if there is a female company graduating before you ship. Generally if it's close to your shipdate (but it can be up to a month BEFORE), that's gonna be your Company.

I had initially thought I was Kilo Company, 3rd RTBN, but I was wrong because Fox Company, 2nd RTBN had a near month-long off cycle.

Regardless, it wont matter, you'll get the training the Corps wants you to get.
