:marine:

Ever since I was little I had always wanted to be a United States Marine. I feel connected in some what way to every Marine that i meet ON THIS SITE.

In three years from now ill be shiped off to Parris Island where I will finally become apart of a proud family. No matter what it takes i will fight and push till I die. I thank every Marine who has ever died or ever sacrificed there lifes just so this nation can sleep at night in peace.

I just wanted to let all you Vietnam Vets(especially you Staff Sergeant Nelson :marine: ) that you are all my hero's, my role models, and the day i graduate, MY BROTHER!!!!!!!! I SALUTE YOU YOU ALL.

Chesty Dog. GOD BLESS THE Marine Corps!!!!!!!!

Hey motivator, keep it up. PT like a mother*, study your knowledge, your history, and stay involved. Keep your nose clean, you'll get there.

Keep your nose clean
Amen to that! There's alot of temptations out there for young high school kids these days.

Seriously what are your extracurricular activities? ROTC? Sports? Clubs? Scouting?

Hey Ya Ridge Runnin Hillbilly

First off my southern brother let me be the first to say to you that you will earn the title, there aint no doubt in my mind, now there will be those that say how can he be so sure. Well that one is difficult but I will still attempt it. Son you are not the first to have wanted to serve with the finest since a very young age. I was just like you, Jimmy what do you want to be when you grow up? My resonse was always he same to my mothers horror, I want to be a Marine is what I always said. I succeeded and so will you.

Secondly I gotta tell you son you really teared this old Marine up with your praise of Vietnam Vets and your personal recognition of this very unworthy one, and I thank you.

In closing I just want you to to know Chesty that you represent the very best in my beloved country.

Thank You My Southern Brother
Jim

well, good luck kid. Makes me proud to know that there are still SOME young people in this world that have heart and do not forget the past or those that have sacrificed to ensure others futures.

you will get no better advice for the next couple of years than that which you have already recieved. stay out of trouble, and don't take any silly risks.

Wow awesome dedication and heart young devil pup. I'm not a Marine yet, but I remember in Junior High saying to myself I wanted to be the best, and that would be nothing less a United States Marine.

You'll get there soon enough, keep your nose out of the gutter and hit those books. I shoulda focused on school more than I have the last 4 years and it shows on the 'ol transcript.

Best wishes,
Poolee Welbaum

EDIT: oh double wow, I just saw you had a black belt in the arts.

I earned my green belt in Taekwon do a few years back, that was some fun stuff. Shoulda stayed in it, that was excellent PT. Everyone complimented how much more physically better I had become on the soccer field.

Some things you'll never forget...........like the smell of gun-powder. Or the distinct chop to the rotor blades of a UH1 Huey as it glide thru the air....!!

This too..........is said for someone who truely wants to wear our title...!!! You can feel it in your words.........You can smell your anticipation and drive in.....wanting to wear our uniform/and title.

To me........and alot of others here..........you're more then just words on a screen... You are the up-coming heartbeat of the Tomorrows Marine Corps. Thank-you...!!!

God bless the Corps

chestydog, i was just like u, all the feelings about a part missing, and who one way or another just to be part of the brotherhood only a selected few can be, if u think just saying all that is a great feeling, "just wait till u sign papers with your recruiter and u leave. parents will cry and u will wonder, but u will come home a different man, AND A MARINE" these were almost excat words from a friend who just came home from basic but jsut to sit with a Marine at breakfast and discuss wats hes been thru, u jsut keep saying in yer head " i cant wait" i kno i cant

remember don't let anyone tell you you can't having something, if you have the heart and the dedication, anything is possible.

Good motivation Chesty. Good to see that there are others out there that are ready to take up the challenge. Too often today the youth are moere interested in drinking and doing stupid things that they forget what really matters. Here's a tip...if you aren't already, join a sports team in high school. Your coach will keep you out of trouble. Coaches are like part time D.I.'s.

CONGRATES TO ALL YOU POOLEE,S. IT IS GREAT TO SEE THE VALUES YOU HOLD. I CAME TO THE U.S.A. IN 1952, AND WHEN IT WAS TIME, I ENLISTED IN THE BEST THERES WAS AND STILL IS. I FELT IT A DUTY TO SERVE THE COUNTRY THAT ACCEPTED US TO DO MY SHARE. I STILL TO THIS DAY, HAVE STRONG VALUES ON WHAT US MARINES STAND FOR. THE TIME SPENT WILL FOLLOW YOU THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, LEARN WELL, LISTEN WELL. THE REWARDS ARE, TO MANY TO MENTION. WELCOME ABOARD.
