Say, a Poolee has made either Eagle Scout, 2 referals, JROTC, or whatever else allows one to be prematurely promoted, would it be proper to display a Chevron as ones avitar?
Enlighten me please:)

Nope. you can't wear it until you are a marine. They don't give you your chevrons until you graduate.

Ok, thanks Corporal.
I hear along of emphasis on PFC this, PFC that around the RSS and at Pool meetings.
But I think that's moreso because they want us to help bring more guys in, so they play the reward games to pump us up:D
I guess its just something you keep to yourself till you're one the parade deck huh?

I have watched you grow from a far and I am pleased to see your growth. Your attitude and zeal along with your motivation will take take you far in my Marine Corps. You also have one of the most important qualities of a United States Marine and thats heart, congratulations on bringing in some fine Marine recruit prospects. Eagle scouts are also a membership of a few and if I were younger and could do it all again your example would have me signing up in a heart beat. I just thought that you should know that.

Thank you Staff Sergeant, If I could go back I would have joined the boy scout wagon, but parents wouldn't permit it at the time.
I only have one referral as of now, but I can feel the next one, its close...
You comment on heart Staff Sergeant, all I want, at my young stage in life, is to be a Marine.

What, are they commies or something? Nothing is more American than the Boy Scouts. Except for apple pie and Senior Drill Instructor Gunnery Sergeant Hartman, of course.

I had church on the same day as the boyscouts meetings, so they made me go to church.
Good reason, I guess.

Of course, but that was the British Boy Scouts. Almost every country (including the LDS church) has their own verion. BP was a great man, and the main progenitor of the world Scouting movement.
The Boy Scouts of America was started by William D. Boyce, Ernst Thompson Seton, and Daniel Carter Beard.
Teddy Roosevelt was an early strong supporter of the BSA.
