Glock 20 followed closely by Glock 29 feeding either Double Tap 200gr XTP/HP or 180gr Gold Dots.

Both really good choices!!!

It is hard to choose, I also like Sig compacts and Berreta 9mm black on black w/rubber grip.

The easy slide action and stock round cappacity of the H&K is why I like it best.

Whos next?

walther ppk. My mom got it for me for graduation from bootcamp. Matching serial number on the mags and everything. a very nice weapon. ( plus vey easily concealable, even in the front pocket of a pair of well fitting blue jeans)

For the budget minded, the 'BERSA Thunder' in .380 is modled after the PPK, or very close. Size is right also, for 'discretionary' carry.

Nicely made, DA, grip safety, decocker, and 7rd mags. That's what the C.O. carries.

I'm partial to my Ruger P89, primarily for the ambidextrous safetys and mag release. High cap mags are kept handy also.

Im currently having a new pistol customized by Wilson Combat... its a Springfield Armory M-1911A1 doubel stack frame with 1913 bottom rail, 45 Auto caliber, 15 round magazines from Wilson Combat, Trijicon Pro-Low Carry Tritium Nite Sights, Springfield Armory match grade adjustable trigger set at 3mm of creep and 1.5 pound trigger pull, Wilson Combat "Armor-Kote" Slide, Wilson Combat Match grade .45 Auto barrel built to Match Grade SAAMI chamber specs with a Wilson Combat hand fit barrel bushing.

I handload my own ammo... so i wont give out loading specs (for liability reasons).. but i will say it is 230Gr JHP-Hydra Shok ammo that is equivelent in ft-lbs energy with Cor-Bon 230Gr +P ammo.

But... untill that is done here is the pistol i carry right now. (its the one on the bottom of the pic)
Springfield Armory M-1911A1 Full Size Loaded Model, .45 Auto, Full length guide rod, match adjustable trigger set at 3mm of creep and 1.5 pound trigger, Novak low pro carry tritium night sights, Colt commander stainless steel hammer, Wilson Combat 8 round "Officer" mags, Wilson Combat match grade barrel and barrel bushing.

Allthough i do like my H&K MK-23... i just dont like how the outside of the barrel on it is painted and it flakes off... makes me wonder why they painted a barrel on a 2K dollor pistol *rolls eyes*

I have a Taurus .357 Magnum with a 6" Ported Full Lug Barrel, very accurate and 97% of shootings involving a .357 Magnum result in Death!
My Ruger KP95 DC (Decocker Only) is extremely dependable and if you run out of Ammo, you can beat the crap out of somebody with it.
If I could afford to buy another pistol right now, I'd want to pick up a 1911 A1 45 Cal. and trick it out a little. I really enjoyed the .45 when I was a young Sergeant, I never took to the Beretta very well.

I really love my Remington Rand M1911A1 .45, but there's my Walther PPK/S .380 that's stainless, easy maintenance, but...
I also like my stainless American Derringer .45 long Colt/.410: the .410 shells are 000 Buck, definately for close quarters. And I like my "wheel guns," they're just fun to shoot. My Colt .25 fits in my back pocket easy enough, and my Iver Johnson TP-22 hides well... There's more I'd like to have, but, but, but... (I think if I got another one I'd be in big trouble with the wife!)

definately not the beretta M9 9mm. I'd prefer the H & K USP .40 or the M1911, better yet, the Kimber LAPD SWAT .45....

Anybody ever shot the limited edition, crome plated, heavier than hell Desert Eagles?

It takes two hands to hold this gun up, and has enough recoil to black your eye! However it will put a hole the size golfball in whatever it hits, and justs screams you dont want to F*ck with me.

Anybody own one? Got pics? Specs?

If I needed to make a hole that big, I've got a Remington 870 loaded with 00 buck!

Glock for duty/durability, Kimber for accuracy. Although I collect firearms and own many, those two are excellent handguns in my opinion.

I carry a Para Ordnance .45 ACP.

Only reason I carry that, is because they don't make a Para Ordnance .60 ACP.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v25/cajunguy/teehee.gif

But when they DO . . .

Seriously, I LOVE my Para Ord.

LMAO---The first time I saw one was at a gun show. I picked it up and then looked at the dealer and ask,"Does it come with a bipod?"

Heavy fire power for sure, but if I'm going to pack that weight I would carry a lighter weapon with as much punch---maybe an 870 Rem.

Your choice---big gun and fun to fire but have you fired the .444 Marlin in a pistol? Lighter weight and REALLY BIG PUNCH!

I own a desert eagle .44 magnum, I shoot it with one hand. Not huge on recoil, just heavy as hell.

I have several hand guns, my favorite for carry is my smallest , a 380, although I carry my Glock 40 more than any of the rest due to its fire power and easy to conceal. As for as getting the job done I like my Glock 21 45 cal it has 2 -13 round clips with one in the hole, better come fast if you want this ass!!! I also have a S&W 357, but its way to big to conceal, I had a Ruger P89 I sold it and bought the Glock 40. The ruger jammed a couple of times and it had to go!!

I have a Kimber Pro Elite .45. It's bad a**. I also like the Glock 23 (had one) and the H&K USP 45 tactical (trying to get one) along with the Mark 23 (can't afford one).

If you need a hand gun in combat you might as well need a good knife and a good baton because unless your special forces (Recon) or an MP, you might as well use a saw or m60. **** the hand gun.

Has anyone else seen a 90 round capacity 9mm pistol?

My Apache SEAL buddy was deputized by Fish and Game to scout out and photograph poachers on Federal land out west.

They issued him this monster of a pistol. The magazine was actually on top of the whole assembly.

It was definately a Law Enforcement Use Only weapon, but I can't remember the name of the manufacturer.

90 rounds of 9MM? i'd think that thing would be too heavy for a handgun.
if you find out what it is, Yellowing, let me know!

Maybe a stupid question but I have got to ask it.:)
Does grip or how the pistol feels in your hand usually determine wether or not you are going to purchase it? If you finally find that pistol that has all the fire power you want plus documented reliability, ease of operation etc., etc. but it just doesn't feel good in your hand, would you buy it?

HardJedi
02-23-05, 08:34 AM
not me. if it doesn't sit right in my hand, what good is it? If Iam uncomfortable with a weapon, how could I ever effectivley deploy it?

kinda like buying a $2000.00 chair that you hate to sit in, ya know?

teufelhunden83

definitely try any handgun before buying. When I was looking to purchase, everyone told me that the 9mm would be more accurate than the .40 cal because of recoil and what not, but for me personally the .40 cal is much more accurate. Guns, particularly handguns, are all about what YOU shoot well. You could have a .50 cal hand cannon, but if you can't hit the broad side of a barn with it, then a 9mm that you can shoot accurately with is a better choice. Just try out different guns and see what YOU shoot best.
