I'll be head'n back to OCS this summer and need a good pair of boots. I've got a pair of black Belleville boots which are awesome, I've NEVER gotten a blister in them. The problem with those is that they're, well, black and if I'm not mistaken the Corps has officially switched to the tan boots. Long story short, who makes the most comfortable USMC-approved boots around? What is everyones favorites? Thanks gents.

The new icb's are the best boot I have ever worn, except for a pair of Danners that I hunt in. The new icb's are also made by Belleville and Bates.

The new brown jungles are outstanding. They're plenty comfortable and breathe well. Get those for the summer.

The Cobbler Shop on Camp Lejeune can work miracles on a pair of speed laces. I wonder if that old guy over by base MP's is still working over there. The best boot I ever owned, except for a pair of insulated Danners were speed laces with an overhaul from the ole cobbler shop + Vibram soles. cost 20-30$

Here's a mini review of the Danner Suede Marine Boots that I posted on MarineOCS.com. My brother got a pair these earlier this month for hiking. I'll be ordering a pair on March 3rd.
The boots:

Okay, here's my report from our hike yesterday
We went to Enchanted Rock State Park. Which is about 15 miles north of Fredericksburg, Texas. There are two main hills, one 1700 feet high, and the highest, which is 1800 feet high. The entire park is one giant rock farm. Anyway, we hiked close to 4 miles on trails, as well as climbing both of the main hills. My brother didn't have a chance to break in the Danners beforehand, so this was basically the first time he wore them for any period of time. He had absolutely no problems at all, no blisters, no sore feet, no nothing. He said they felt so comfortable, it was like he was wearing a pair of sneakers. Plus, his boots looked just as good after the hike as they did before. On the other hand, the black Altama jungle boots I use with my Army ROTC utilities were all jacked up.
I'll be getting a pair on March 3rd, so I'll let you know what I think of them somtime around the middle of march.
Edit: BTW, these Danner boots do have the EGA on the side and the approval number on the tongue."
